The location is perfect, with easy access to great dining options and important attractions like the Fine Arts Museum. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering plenty of choices that catered to different tastes. However, the walls were thin, which made for a somewhat noisy experience during the nights.

Not the Cheapest but Worth it for the Experience
I gotta say, the breakfast buffet was a game changer. I mean, you could stuff yourself silly for just 200 pesos, fresh fruits, great coffee (if you can handle it), and nice chat with the staff. Also, the staff was super welcoming. they really know how to treat a guest right.
It wasn't exactly cheap. but it was acceptable in the end.

The Hotel Metropol caught my attention with its central location. Just a block away from Palacio de Bellas Artes, everything felt within reach. I loved the buffet breakfast in the morning. it offered a good variety and worth the $6. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly. My room, however, had several drawbacks. The pillows were uncomfortable, and the key card often failed, requiring frequent trips to the front desk. The noise from the corridors was quite distracting at night, interrupting any chance of a peaceful sleep. Also, I noticed the absence of air conditioning, which made things uncomfortable during warmer days. Despite the clean and refurbished rooms, overall comfort could be greatly improved.

missingWrote a review on 23 Maycentral locationbuffet breakfastsecure safenoisy rooms
This place sits right in the heart of the city, making it easy to stroll over to the Zócalo and check out museums nearby. The buffet breakfast offers a substantial spread for only about $6, and there’s a secure safe in the room for valuables, though keep in mind you need to deposit a bit for the key.
Rooms come off a tad dated, with thin walls that might let in some unwanted noise from neighboring guests—definitely a consideration if you're a light sleeper. Several rooms face the street, which can be quite loud at any hour, making it tough to relax. Not all rooms feature air conditioning, so during warmer nights, it can get muggy, impacting your ability to catch some z's. Plus, if you just want to unwind and watch some TV, you might run into battery issues with the remote.

Staying with my friends was the highlight! We loved catching a show at the Teatro de la Ciudad and visiting the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Make sure to grab the full buffet breakfast. it’s a steal at $6. The location is perfect for exploring nearby attractions. We even used the subway, which is super affordable and easy to navigate.
One downside was that the reception staff was not very helpful during check-in, which made the process a bit frustrating. We had to wait longer than expected and didn’t receive proper guidance on hotel services.
